Parkbridge to add first-ever retail space at Lakehaven community

December 11, 2025

Parkbridge has received zoning approval from the Town of Innisfil to introduce a neighbourhood-level shopping centre within the Lakehaven community in Innisfil, Ontario, one of its newest and fastest-growing residential communities.

This milestone marks the first time in Parkbridge’s history that a new retail complex has been added to one of its communities, representing a significant step forward in enhancing local amenities and supporting the evolving needs of residents.

The approved plan covers an ~8.5-acre retail site, and envisions a small-scale, neighbourhood-level shopping centre with supportive retail uses and on-site parking. The shopping centre is consistent with the Town’s “Main Street” vision for 25th Side Road, and will offer a curated mix of small-scale shops and services, anchored by a larger format store that would be well-suited to a grocery store – a sought-after addition for local residents and the broader Innisfil community.

“Introducing retail to Lakehaven marks a major milestone for Parkbridge and reflects our commitment to building complete, future-ready communities,” said Eric Malcolmson, Senior Vice President, Development, Parkbridge. “By integrating shopping, services, and everyday essentials into Lakehaven, we’re setting a new standard for what land lease communities can offer across Canada.”

The submission further positions Lakehaven as a modern neighbourhood that continues to grow in alignment with local needs.

A first of its kind in Canada, Lakehaven is a mixed-use community offering two distinct forms of homeownership. Developed in partnership with Mattamy Homes, North America’s largest family-owned homebuilder, the community offers Canadians a choice between freehold detached homes and land lease townhomes – bringing flexibility and affordability to a range of homebuyers.

Located in Innisfil, Ontario, Lakehaven combines serene, active living with exceptional convenience. Just minutes from the beaches of Lake Simcoe, scenic walking trails, and Allandale Golf Course, the community also enjoys easy access to nearby shopping and dining. Commuters benefit from being less than a 10-minute drive to the South Barrie GO station, ensuring smooth connections across the region and to downtown Toronto

The retail announcement comes as Lakehaven celebrates another major update: the addition of Jackson Park, a new neighbourhood park named in honour of Innisfil’s longest-serving mayor, Brian Jackson. Together, these additions reinforce Lakehaven’s position as a vibrant, connected community built for long-term growth.

Parkbridge looks forward to continuing its work with residents and partners as Lakehaven continues to evolve into one of Ontario’s most dynamic communities.
